God talks about 2 sabbaths—- the Seventh Day Sabbath (Saturday) and ceremonial sabbaths. Ceremonial sabbaths can fall on any day of the week. God made the Seventh Day Sabbath for rest and worship.

What’s the Difference Between the Old Covenant & New Covenant in the Bible?
Brianhyde—because of 1 Timothy 1:6 referring to you, my communication with you is finished.

What’s the Difference Between the Old Covenant & New Covenant in the Bible?
In Leviticus 23:3 God talks about the Seventh Day Sabbath and the ceremonial sabbaths. The Seventh Day Sabbath was instituted at Creation and was made the 4th commandment of the Ten Commandments which is, also, referred to as The Laws of God. The ceremonial sabbaths were given to Israel—The Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Day of Atonement, etc. The ceremonial sabbaths were done away with in the New Covenant with the crucifixion of Jesus. However, the Laws of God (The Ten Commandments) were not done away with as people want to believe. In Matthew 5:17 Jesus says, “Do not think that I come to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill”. NKJV. I have been taught that The Law always refers to God’s Laws/The Laws of God—-the Ten Commandments. In Revelations 22:14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. I have been taught that the laws referred to in the bible are referenced as The Laws of God or the Law of Moses. God’s Laws are the Ten Commandments and the Law of Moses refers to the ceremonial laws.

The Day of The Lord is a phrase usually interpreted as a period in the end-time when God will bring His purpose for man and the world to fulfillment. This will be the day of judgment for the rebellious and sinful (Jer. 46:10) and a time of deliverance for the godly (Joel 2:28-32). Any time—-whether now or in the future—when The Lord acts, intervening in history for the purpose of deliverance and judgment may also be described as the “day of The Lord” (isa. 13:6). Can you give me the verse that says, “Now our rest is in the finished work of Jesus, not just a day”? I can’t find it. Also, keeping the Sabbath wasn’t just a way of life—it was the 4th Commandment and Jesus was sent not to change the law, but to fulfill it–Matthew 5:17. Also, The Day of The Lord mentioned in the verses you listed is referring to the Rapture or 2nd coming of Jesus Christ our Lord.

However, you are correct in that God didn’t change the Seventh-day Sabbath to Sunday. The Pope did and billions of people are being deceived in believing a mortal pagan man instead of God’s Word. Every denomination except the SDA have included many papal doctrines and allowed the pope to “act as God” and confuse the Word of God with his changes. And who does God call this enmity? THE ANTICHRIST. God’s Words give 9 characteristics of the antichrist in Daniel 7: 1. The “little horn” referring to a little kingdom in Western Europe. 2. it could have a man at its head who could speak for it. Daniel 7:8 3. It would uproot 3 kingdoms—verse 8. 4. it would be diverse from the other kingdoms—verse 24. 5. it would make war with and persecute saints—verse 21, 25. 6. it would emerge from pagan Roman Empire—the 4th world kingdom—verse 7,8. 7. God’s people (the saints) would “be given into his hand” for “a time and times and the dividing of time”—verse 25. 8. It would “speak great words against” or blaspheme God–verse 25. 9. It would “think to change times and laws” verse 25.

God just wants us to measure our character and integrity against His 10 Commandments. How do you measure up and what are you going to do about it? Everyone should do this self-test daily. Die to selfish self and follow God’s Will as written in His Word—not man’s word. As SDA’s we are encouraged to not believe everything we hear but to research the Bible and pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal the Truth of God’s Words—to be led by the Holy Spirit—-not man, priests, pastors, popes, etc.—mortal man can deceive—the Holy Spirit won’t/can’t. I hope this helps clarify some of the confusion produced by Brian Hyde. I don’t understand him either. He is gradually being viewed as “Satan on my heels” and I’m getting ready to kick him off—so to speak!
